The Celebration Jar Story

CelebrationJar was founded by Carey Granda and Emily Brown, two ladies who share a love for adventure and live life to the fullest while always making time for friends and family. They are both very passionate about their product and know that every creation is a tribute to someone who has truly touched the lives of many.

CelebrationJar Beginnings
The idea was born one day as we discussed how to celebrate a great friend's upcoming 30th Birthday. Knowing she already had enough physical possessions, we wanted to give her something more unique and personal. A gift consisting of memories and stories from friends and family would surely make her 30th birthday memorable!

The memories were secretly collected and the Jar was crafted. Needless to say, Tiffani loved her Jar and so did many of her friends and family. After countless inquiries, CelebrationJar was created!

Meet Carey
Growing up in a small town in southern Illinois, Carey always looked for creative ways to occupy her time, including playing hide and seek and enjoying nature with her pets.

This early interest in exploration has developed into a great love for travel. Some of Carey's adventures have included mountain biking in Scotland, walking up the Great Wall in China, visiting the first base camp of Mt. Everest in Tibet, riding a camel in Egypt near the pyramids, listening to the Dali Lama speak in England, and even a trip to the Arctic Circle!

Her sense of adventure is not limited to travel. This sassy and outgoing girl loves training and participating in marathons and triathlons, even completing Ironman Arizona in November 2008!

When Carey isn't traveling or out training for an upcoming race, she enjoys spending quality time at home with her four-legged family, consisting of four dogs named (Ramesses, Kona, Pickles and Cheeto).

Meet Emily
As the youngest of four kids, Emily has always been a little more on the adventurous side. She's rafted down the great rapids of the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, zip-lined through the rainforests of Costa Rica, soared in a hot air balloon over Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier, traveled through the countryside and beaches of Spain, and participated in numerous adventure races throughout Arizona and California.

Emily is also an avid hiker, triathlete, MBA graduate, and even spent time as a beekeeper back on the east coast. However, these days she spends as much time as possible with her beautiful one-year-old son, Carson.

Emily and her husband Andrew met at the University of Maryland and have made Arizona their home for the last seven years.
